Virginia Beach is a beautiful city based in its state’s southeastern coast. It’s part of the Hampton Roads metropolitan area, also called “America’s First Region.” This region includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Newport News, Suffolk, and Chesapeake. With a population of over 452,000 people, Virginia Beach is Virginia’s largest city. It’s also a resort city with several beaches, restaurants, and hotels along its oceanfront. It even breaks a world record for having the longest pleasure beach on Earth. Because of its beach environment, living here is like being on vacation 365 days a year.
Since Virginia Beach possesses a nautical environment, many locals call it “Neptune City.” There’s a statue dedicated to the Roman sea god and even a festival named after him: the Neptune Festival. The Neptune Festival is the city’s largest event that draws in 500,000 visitors a year and honors its heritage. It features a surfing contest, arts and crafts, live music, food, and more. One of the most popular places here is the boardwalk at its oceanfront. It’s filled with concerts, outdoor cafes, hotels, people, and a bike path. During special events at the boardwalk, you can see street performers like magicians and jugglers. The town is home to over 210 parks offering amenities that range from open spaces to ball fields. One of the most unique parks in the area is Mount Trashmore Park, a park that was a former landfill. It has two lakes and a skate park. Virginia Beach has plenty of excellent schools. Its school district has 56 public elementary schools, 14 public middle schools, and 12 public high schools. (Some of these schools are in surrounding cities.) This city also has many private schools and a few post-secondary institutions.
The real estate properties in Virginia Beach are made up of single-family residences, apartments, townhouses, and mobile homes. Most Virginia Beach homes were built between 1970-1999, so they’re relatively young, yet well-established. Over 40 percent of homes here have three bedrooms, but there are dwellings with more or fewer rooms as well. This city is an ideal place for everyone. It’s safe, sunny, and close to many things you need. Consider buying a home in Virginia Beach, where every day is a day at the beach.
